Service 05 / 10 — Digital product
Mobile app development.
One app that runs on both iPhone and Android, with a backend we build ourselves. From the first usable version to release on the App Store and Google Play — and maintenance afterwards, because release is not the end of the job.
1 codebase
Written once, runs on both platforms.
Two separate apps, one for iPhone and one for Android, mean two builds and two maintenance cycles. For most business apps that is double the cost with no difference a user would notice. We build them separately only when the job really calls for it — heavy graphics or work with the phone's sensors.
— What it includes
From prototype to the store.
A mobile app is half work on the phone and half on the server. We do both halves, so neither side can blame the other when something breaks.
iPhone and Android
one app, the same behaviour on both platforms
Backend and API
Laravel, the same development and maintenance model as our web applications
Sign-in and accounts
email, phone, or sign-in with a Google or Apple account
Push notifications
triggered by events and by user segment
Offline mode
where it makes sense — content stays available and syncs later
Store release
account setup, descriptions, screenshots, getting through review
Versions and updates
new versions, error tracking, support for older devices
Maintenance
the yearly iOS and Android changes — part of the model, not an add-on
— How we work
- 01
Requirements and analysis
What the app does in its first version, and what we deliberately leave for the second.
~3–5 days - 02
Screen prototype
A clickable prototype on the phone, before development — the cheapest place to change your mind.
1–2 weeks - 03
Development and backend
The app and the API together, in stages you can install and try.
5–10 weeks - 04
Testing on devices
TestFlight for iPhone, an internal test track for Android. Your people test on their own phones.
1–2 weeks - 05
Release and maintenance
Submission to both stores, getting through their review, then regular releases.
1–3 weeks
What clients ask about mobile apps.
How much does publishing in the stores cost?
The Apple Developer Program is USD 99 a year, Google Play a one-off USD 25. The accounts are opened in your company's name and stay yours — that matters more than it sounds, because the account carries the app.
How long does approval take?
Google usually the same day or the next. Apple anywhere from a few hours to a few days, and it does send apps back over small details. We plan the first review as a stage, not a formality.
Do we need a website as well?
In practice, yes: both stores require a publicly available privacy policy, and Apple also wants a support page. If you have no website, a small landing page covers it, and we build it alongside the app.
What about new versions of iOS and Android?
New versions of iOS and Android come out once a year and bring changes the app has to keep up with. Maintenance covers that adaptation, new store requirements and support for devices that are still in use.
Can we start smaller?
We recommend it. The first version does one thing well and gets released; whatever users ask for goes into the second. That way you pay for what actually gets used.
