Our clients were ready for the Google Page Experience update
Last year Google announced one of its bigger updates, called Google Page Experience. After a few delays, the final deadline for client sites to be ready was May this year. So our team started preparing for the new Google ranking factors, which had been partly revealed much earlier under the name “Core Web Vitals”. The main goal was for web pages to be optimised for users as much as possible. Google named 3 main factors of this update:
- LCP - measures how your page loads, that is, how long it takes for the largest element on the page to load
- FID - shows the time from the first interaction until the site responds
- CLS - measures the visual stability of the elements on your page

Over time Google also built tools for Core Web Vitals reports to make things easier for developers. Of course, alongside all these factors, the basic SEO factors had to be kept or improved: content quality, site structure, optimisation and so on. Read more on our website SEO optimisation page. After the safety check of the basic factors we moved on to the new ones. First we developed a strategy and went on the attack. The first problem we ran into was the pretty picture on the home page, which was the largest element during loading, and we had to remove it; then we cut the initial content to a minimum, while FID and CLS were more or less tight already. The final result looked like this:
